Canada Immigration: Business Class (Start-Up Visa)

The Start-Up Visa Program (SUV) is considered one of the most efficient and straightforward immigration programs offered by the Canadian Federal Government for entrepreneurs and businesspeople. Through this program, entrepreneurs are initially issued Work Permits, which typically take around ten (10) business days to process. Subsequently, Permanent Resident Visas are generally processed and issued within a timeframe of two (2) to six (6) months.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has established several requirements for this program, which include:

1. The entrepreneur must be proficient in either English or French and must achieve a language test score of at least Canada Language Benchmark Level 5.

2. The entrepreneur must have a genuine interest in starting and growing a high-potential start-up company with the goal of selling to customers in at least five (5) countries within the timeframe of twenty-four (24) to thirty-six (36) months.

3. The entrepreneur must possess strong sales and distribution channels internationally, or expertise in a specific area or significant management experience.

4. The entrepreneur must have a high net worth as they will be responsible for funding the research and development (R&D) and development stage from ideation to acquiring the first customers.

5. The entrepreneur will collaborate with one of our partner firms, which are designated new business incubators recognized by CIC to support SUV entrepreneurs. The partner firm will provide applicants with an incubation program to pursue early adopting customers, with the primary objective of obtaining validated learning about the identified problem and solution, as well as assumptions about the early adopting customers who will benefit from the solution.

6. This Business Immigration Program does not allow for "passive" investment schemes. It is an "active" start-up program that requires the entrepreneur's active participation in building the start-up.

Regarding the time commitments of the entrepreneur, the SUV program, in collaboration with the business incubator, allows for a balance between managing existing international businesses, transitioning the entrepreneur's family to Canada, and launching the new start-up in Canada. By aligning with the business incubator, the entrepreneur can build a start-up team to achieve their objectives.

The amount of start-up funding required to seed the venture is determined based on the needs and nature of the proposed venture, including the goal of selling to customers in five (5) countries within twenty-four (24) to thirty-six (36) months. There is no fixed price for this Business Immigration Program, as funds are not paid for obtaining immigration. Instead, funds are utilized to support the start-up and pursue incubation goals.
