Agri-Food Pilot

Immigrate to Canada by working in specific agri-food industries and occupations.

What is Agri-Food Pilot?

The Agri-Food Pilot is a Canadian immigration program designed to address the labor shortage in the agri-food sector by attracting and retaining skilled foreign workers.

The pilot program is aimed at three groups of workers:

1. Temporary foreign workers who are already in Canada and have work experience in the meat processing, mushroom production or greenhouse production sectors.
2. International graduates from Canadian post-secondary institutions who have completed programs in agriculture or agri-food related fields.
3. Skilled workers who have work experience in one of the eligible occupations and meet the other program requirements.

The eligible occupations are focused on management and technical roles in the agriculture and agri-food sector, such as farm supervisors, farm managers, food processing supervisors, and industrial butchers.

To be eligible for the program, applicants must have a valid job offer in one of the eligible occupations from a Canadian employer in the agri-food sector, meet the language requirements, and have the necessary education and work experience. Applicants also need to meet the other standard requirements for immigration to Canada, such as health and security checks.

Successful applicants and their families will be granted permanent residence in Canada, which will allow them to work and live in the country permanently. The Agri-Food Pilot is part of Canada's broader initiative to attract and retain skilled immigrants in industries where there are shortages of workers.
