Investing in Canada is a pathway to immigrate to Canada

You can become a Canadian permanent resident by investing in an existing business or starting a new business, as long as you hire Canadian permanent residents or citizens.
Each province and territory in Canada has its own business categories, and applicants must apply directly to the province in which they want to invest.
In most cases, if the province nominates the applicant, the IRCC will issue a work permit for the applicant to come to Canada and start their business. Once the applicant meets the conditions of their business, they will receive a letter of approval from the province and apply for permanent resident status.
The table below outlines the minimum net worth and investment required for each business category in all provinces and territories. Additionally, other factors such as percentage ownership, job creation, exploratory visits, co-registrants, partnering with locals, type of business, reporting periods, residency obligations, work experience, education, language proficiency, status in the province, and age of the applicant will also be evaluated.
